Vlad Sokhin works regularly as a photography, video and communications consultant with United Nations agencies and international NGOs in developing countries and post-conflict zones. He has covered natural disasters, environmental, health-related and human rights issues, including: violence against women and children, illegal logging, climate change, youth unemployment, malaria treatment, HIV/AIDS, TB epidemics, road safety, water and sanitation, housing rights and forced evictions, police brutality, sorcery-related violence, child labour, Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Northern Cameroon, civil war in Central African Republic, Northern Mali conflict, among others.
Vlad has produced many fundraising, campaign and country program videos for UNICEF, UNAIDS, UN Women, OHCHR, ChildFund, Amnesty International, the Fred Hollows Foundation and others.
Vlad has been a guest speaker and a lecturer at many institutions including Australian Parliament House (Canberra), Australian National University (Canberra), Social Good Summit (Sydney, Australia), Chiang Mai University (Thailand), Amnesty International (New Zealand), School of Visual Arts (Russia), IADE Creative University (Portugal), American University of Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan), among others.
Vlad gives lectures on photography and human rights and teaches photo and video workshops for photography students and UN/NGO clients.
