Screening of the “Tom & Jerry” cartoons for the kids in “Maneaba”, a traditional I-Kiribati community house in Tebero village, Abaiang atoll. Children of Kiribati are sometimes called “the last generation”. By 2030, the sea level rise is projected to be in the range of 5 – 14 cm. The sea-level rise combined with natural year-to-year changes will increase the impact of storm surges and coastal flooding, making many areas of the country uninhabitable and forcing it’s residents to become “climate change refugees”.
