Chiang Mai Documentary Arts Festival

My next personal exhibition with the “Crying Meri” project will be opened on 11th of February 2013 in Chiang Mai, Thailand during the 2nd annual Chiang Mai Documentary Arts Festival. Very excited about it! If you are in Thailand, do not miss it!

July Jaworski (19) shows her prostatic leg in Kundiawa town, Simbu Province. July's father attacked her and chopped off her leg when she was 9 moths old. July's mother brought her to the hospital and never came back. Jul was raised by Polish doctor and priest Jan Jaworski, who's surname she adopted. In July 2011 July she went to Lae town to make another prostatic leg. She were was raped there by members of the local Raskol gang and got pregnant. She lives now with her son James (on the left) in Kundiawa town with a fear to be exposed to the violence again.Papua New Guinea, November 2012.

The 2nd annual Chiang Mai Documentary Arts Festival will see exhibitions, films, keynote speakers and workshops from some of the best documentary artists working in Asia today. Photo exhibitions, documentary film screenings, workshops, talks, auction portfolio reviews and social events.
Keynote speaker is Shahidul Alam with 18 exhibitions. Including work by Greenpeace, Asian Women photographers Showcase.
Important and topical curated exhibitions about Kashmir and Kachin.
