One more woman beheaded in PNG (Bougainville Island) after being accused of sorcery.
Mrs Helen Rumbali was the leader of the South Bougainville Women’s Federation, a former school teacher and strong advocate for women’s rights and the development of Bougainville. She died last Friday after being attacked with knives and axes in the village of Lopele.Her sister was also kidnapped and tortured and is now in hiding with other members of the family. Rest in peace brave Helen Rumbali!
In Bangkok at the Foreigner Correspondent’s Club of Thailand three of my stories (“Crying Meri”, “Cargo Cult” and “Last of the Dani”) are displayed from March 22nd until April 27th as a part of the FCCT/OnAsia Photo Contest Winners Exhibition. This year I’m proud to be selected as a Photographer of the Year by the international jury members.

If you are in Saint Petersburg, Russia, please come to se my exhibition “Action Zone” at the Museum of the History of Photography. You will see there more than 70 photos from Mozambique, Kenya, Indonesia, Vanuatu and Papua-New Guinea. The exhibition’s last day is April 30th.
